Celebrating Earth Day with an underwater twist

by Staff

Roi Namur, Kwajalein Atoll, RMI - (19 Apr 07)

Join thousands of water lovers worldwide in celebrating Earth Day with an underwater twist by participating in a Dive In To Earth Day activity!

Everyone and anyone interested in making a difference in their community and helping build awareness of the urgent need to protect our underwater world. We will be doing an underwater cleanup in the following locations and dates:

April 23, 2007 – Roi-Namur
April 30, 2007 – Kwajalein

Get your fellow SCUBA divers together for a fun Dive In activity! This will be a fun event with numerous prizes to be given away and a free lunch afterwards! We will be cleaning up the Small Boat Marinas at both locations, and we will have a free BBQ with hot dogs and hamburgers afterwards.

Dive In To Earth Day was launched by The Coral Reef Alliance (CORAL) seven years ago to bring attention to threatened marine ecosystems and engage communities in the protection of their local aquatic environment.

The Coral Reef Alliance (CORAL) is a San Francisco based non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and conservation of coral reefs. CORAL coordinates Dive In To Earth Day with the support of the The Curtis and Edith Munson Foundation, the Earth Day Network and the International Coral Reef Action Network (ICRAN).
